Dixie Dean Wilson, age 88, of Jones, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Edgewood Health & Rehabiliation in Three Rivers. She was born October 7, 1934 in Pattensburg, MO, a daughter of Cleo and Mildred (Snell) Frazier. Dixie graduated from Marcellus High School in 1952. She received a liberal arts diploma from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac and attended Golden Key College of Nursing in Sacramento, CA. On February 23, 2002 she married James Wilson at Porter Baptist Church in Constantine.
Dixie had worked for Three Rivers High School, Three Rivers Savings and Loan in Union, Continental Can, Century 21 Arrowhead Realty, and was former owner of Three Rivers Furs.
Surviving are her husband James Wilson, Jones, son Douglas Harvey, Jones; daughters Sherryl (Don) Bainbridge, FL and Norma Slager, TX; step-son James M. (Sue) Wilson, Three Rivers; step-daughters Jean Wilson, FL and Jane Jaco, Constantine; grandchildren Travis Bainbridge, Somer Bainbridge, Ben, Zach, Daniel, and Callum; and sister Cleo Ann Laybourne. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bill Fraizer and Floyd Frazier.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 12 to 2 PM at First Baptist Church, 15360 Mason St; Union, MI, where Religious services will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service. Private burial will take place at Shavehead Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Union.
