Elaine Mae Lipscomb, age 61, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday evening, August 19, 2023 at her home.
She was born April 12, 1962 in Three Rivers, daughter of the late Harold and Roxie (Stevens) Gorbutt.
Elaine was a lifelong Sturgis resident and attended Sturgis High School.
On August 3, 1987 she married Larry Lipscomb at Oak Lawn Terrace Park in Sturgis.
Elaine had been employed as a home health aide by Cross Roads Home Health Care in Angola. She loved her job and caring for her patients.
Elaine loved camping and always had an ear on her police scanner.
She is survived by her husband: Larry; her children: Amy Baker of Sturgis, Todd (Andrea) Lipscomb of Three Rivers and Stacy (Robert Snyder) Gorbutt of Coldwater; grandchildren: Alayna, Andrew, Jeremiah and Hayden Baker, Maslin, Shepherd, Liam and Lucille Lipscomb and Raeleigh and Raelynn Freshour; great grandson: Jace Baker; sisters: Patricia (Dave) Parker of Nottawa and Peggy Davis of Dowagiac; brother: Garry Gorbutt of Fort Worth, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson: Ethan Freshour and brothers: Larry Gorbutt and Al Halferty.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Aug. 24th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Elaine Mae Lipscomb will begin at 1:00 on Friday, Aug. 25th. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
