James Lee, 83

James B. Lee, age 83, of Colon, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at his home.

James was born on October 29, 1939, in Chicago, a son to the late Larry and Elsie (Smedman) Lee. James graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1958. He lived in Colon most of his life. James owned and operated Jim’s Fish n Bait and Sharpening for many years. James was also a former member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Colon.

On August 10, 1994 James married Gloria A. Clark in Three Rivers.

James is survived by his wife Gloria A. Lee of Colon, Children: Michelle Lee of South Carolina, Kathy Zinsmaster of Three Rivers, Abraham Clark of Colon, Hannah (Darward) Bates of Battle Creek, grand children: Kimberly (Nate) Taylor, Kenneth (Robin) Zinsmaster, Cassidy (Travis) Munn, Alan Doenges, Jaidan Clark, Gracie Clark, Isaac Kees, Arilyn Clark, and great grandchildren: Tyler, Arthur.

Besides his parents Larry and Elsie Lee, James was preceded in death by his previous wives Louise Lee and Karen Lee, as well as a grandson Jamie VanVorst.

Following in his wish’s cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.
