Mark Eugene Klein, age 70, of Mendon, died Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Three Rivers on September 8, 1952 the son of Vincent Eugene Klein and Henrietta (Pleuster) Klein. He graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1970. He was employed at Simpson Paper Company for thirty-and-one-half years before its closing as Fox River Paper. He then worked at I.A.C. in Mendon. Mark was a lifetime member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon. He enjoyed travels across the country with his family. He was a Detroit Tiger and Lions fan and watched the Irish of Notre Dame and old TV programs.
Mark was married to Paula Vreeland on June 15, 1974 at St. Edward. She survives along with five children; Marty Klein of Mendon, Stephanie (Cesar) Colette of Vicksburg, Michelle (Steve) Allison of Stockbridge, Matthew Klein of Mendon, and Cindy (Jesse) King of Mendon. Three grandchildren; Lucas Colette, Dierks King, and Austin King, and a few grand fur babies. Ten siblings; Mary Klein, Tom (Margie) Klein, Jane (Barry) VanderVeen, Gary (Sandy) Klein, Diane (David) Snyder, Bonnie Moser, Carol Mack, David Klein, Anthony (Patty) Klein, and Barbara (Wayne) Dale; mother-in-law Martha Vreeland and sister-in-law Tangileen Klein. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Vincent E. and Henrietta; brothers Roger Klein and Vincent B. Klein; sister Jean Marie Klein; brothers-in-law John Mack and Byron Moser; and a grand-niece Judy Klein.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8pm Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon followed by a rosary service at 8pm. A funeral mass for Mark will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 12 Noon at St. Edward Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Following the mass, burial will be held in St Edward Catholic Cemetery in Mendon. It is suggested that memorials be directed to St. Edward Catholic Church.
