Troy Born, 57

Troy Allen Born, age 57, of Portage, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at his home.

He was born October 25, 1965 in Niles, the son of Richard and Sharon (Bickle) Born.

Troy enjoyed playing video games, drag racing, tractor pulls, and field work that involved driving a tractor. He loved Michigan college football, WWE wrestling, and going to Martin for the drag races. He also loved his dogs, Edward, Minnie, Bella, Pudgy, Nessie, Gretchen, and SusieQ; and his cat, Tangerine.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Nancy Born, whom he married February 18, 2006; son, Richard “Richie” Born; daughter, Brittney Born; step-sons, Aaron (Hannah) Hassinger, Adam Parker, and Floyd Parker; grandchildren, Kegan, Karmen, Khloie, Damian, Miles, and Mia; father, Richard Born; brothers, Timothy Born and Richard O. Born; sister, Kimberly (Steve) Wiles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Born, in 2005.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A graveside service will follow at Poe’s Cemetery, 13020 Born St., Jones.

Donations in Troy’s memory may be directed to Denney Veterinary Services for future care of his beloved dogs. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
