United Way receives donated community-support-response vehicle

Morgan Olson has donated a community-support-response vehicle to the St. Joseph County United Way to celebrate the 20th year of operation at Morgan Olson’s step-van production facility in Sturgis.

The vehicle was presented last week.

Mike Ownbey, Morgan Olson president and CEO, said the company’s step vans help people in many ways and are essential in delivering life-saving supplies. He said the step van donated to the United Way is the first community-support-response vehicle of its kind and will help the United Way help St. Joseph County.

Larry Palmer, Morgan Olson’s vice president of sales, said the donation includes contributions from Freightliner Custom Chassis, the Morgan Olson team of bodybuilders, electrical engineers, R&D technicians, paint experts and decal artists.
