Bill Barr, 65

William Glenn Barr, age 65, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2023 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was born August 20, 1958 in Coldwater, son of the late Robert and Phyllis (Fitch) Barr.

Bill resided in Sturgis since 2003 coming from Coldwater. His early life was spent in Bronson where he was a graduate of Bronson High School with the class of 1976.

On September 5, 2003 he married Debra Erwin in Centreville.

For the past 20 years Bill had been employed as a supervisor at Iceberg Enterprises in Sturgis. Prior to joining Iceberg he had worked several years at Continental Accessories also in Sturgis.

Bill was a past member of Eagles Lodge #1314 in Sturgis. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and fishing, and was a longtime loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife: Debbie; his children: Billy (Rachel) Barr and Nathan (Kaylyn) Barr both of Sturgis, Brandon Barr of Kalamazoo, TJ (Lauren) Friend of White Pigeon and Casey (Nick) Grant of Lansing grandchildren: Isaac Barr, Kassidy Barr, Charlotte Grant and Sadie Barr; brother: Larry (Lou) Barr of Coldwater; sister-in-law: Karon Barr of Bronson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Robert Barr.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
