Brenda Louise Tullos, age 62, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, September 11, 2023 at her home.
She was born June 10, 1961 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Willard and Bertie (Tilly) Hughes.
Brenda was a lifelong Sturgis resident and attended Sturgis Public Schools.
On September 10, 1979 she married Lesley Tullos in Stone Coal, Kentucky.
Brenda had been employed by Midwest Tool & Cutlery in Sturgis for 10 years. She also had worked in several area fast food restaurants including Burger King, the Trojan Inn where she was a car hop, and the Rumble Seat Restaurant.
She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 44 years: Lesley; son: Joseph Tullos of Sturgis; grandchildren: Tyler and Liberty Tullos; sister: Sue Farler of Burr Oak; brother: Ronnie Hughes of Burr Oak, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter: Kalie Tullos; sister: Willetta Conley and brother: Wendell Hughes.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service and burial of the remains will take place at 5:00 P.M., Friday, September 22nd at the Burr Oak Cemetery. Brenda’s son, Joseph, will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
