Mary Fox, 73

Mary E. Fox, age 73, of Sturgis, passed away Friday evening, September 1, 2023 at the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Warren Campus in Warren, Michigan.

She was born November 24, 1949 in South Haven, daughter of the late Clarence E. and Laveda V. (Pierce) Jenner.

Mary was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1967.

On July, 19, 1969 she married Karl L. Fox, Jr. at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

Mary’s working life for 30 years was involved in the banking industry retiring from Merit First Bank.

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

Mary was always involved in her community. She was a past member of the Sturgis Kiwanis Club, Sturgis Lions Club, and the Parent Advisory Council. She and Karl were very active in the Foreign Exchange program and had opened their home to nine students over the years. Many of the students have remained close friends with the Fox family.

She is survived by her husband: Karl; children: Patrick (Lisa) Fox of Gregory and Lorianne (John) Seeley of Chesterfield; grandchildren: Brittany (Zach) Wilbur, Erica (Alex) Brownlee, Ryan Fox, Jack Seeley and Ben Seeley and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Brian Fox, sister: Carolyn Colvin and brothers: Bud Jenner and Michael Jenner.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday, Sept. 11th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Mary E. Fox will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00. Pastor Doug Noonkester of the First Baptist Church of Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
