Peggy Lee Standish, age 74, of Leonidas, died Friday, September 1, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She was born in Port Huron on March 3, 1949 the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Kibble) Dessro and attended schools in Port Huron and Three Rivers. She was married to Christopher Standish on August 8, 2002 in LaGrange, Indiana. Peggy was a homemaker who enjoyed time with her family. She also enjoyed animals, her dogs and cats, and raising chickens.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Chris; four children, Cheryl Hempel and John Pierce both of Three Rivers, Karen (John) Baird of Leonidas, and David (Melissa) Pierce of Vicksburg; step-children, Lois (Greg) Miller and Christopher Standish, Jr.; special nephew, Milo Pierce of Oregon; nineteen grandchildren, Destiny Pierce Sophia Pierce, Allen-Michael Binkley, Gordon Binkley, Logan (Treasure) Pierce, Sydnee Pierce, Wyatt Pierce, Kay-Lee Miller, Sable Miller, Aurora Miller, Samuel Miller, KJ Miller, Phoebe Standish, Piper Standish, Penny Standish, Christopher Confer, John Confer, John Baird, III, and Justin Baird; four great-grandchildren, Josie Binkley, Rowan Miller, Winifred Miller, and Evie Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters, Sara and Brittany Hempel.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1:45 pm Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Graveside services will begin at 2 pm Friday in Mendon Cemetery with Rev.
