Coldwater woman cashes in winning lottery ticket

A Coldwater woman is $150,000 richer after cashing in a lucky lottery ticket earlier this week.

Brandy Bowditch, 39, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the Oct. 7 drawing to win $150,000. Bowditch opted for the PowerPlay option, which tripled her winnings.

Bowditch purchased the ticket at PS Food Mart on West Chicago Road in Coldwater. She said she used a scanner at the store to confirm whether she had a winning ticket. Bowditch said she had a feeling she won a substantial amount when a message on the scanner indicated she would have to file a claim at the lottery’s Lansing office.

Bowditch told lottery officials she intends to pay off her home, pay bills and set aside the rest of the money.
