Evelyn Pant, 91

Evelyn R. (Harman) Pant, age 91, of Sturgis, passed away early Sunday morning, October 15, 2023 at Thurston Woods Villa in Sturgis.

She was born February 5, 1932 in New York, New York daughter of the late Phillip and Lillian (DeBaum) Harman.

Mrs. Pant resided in Sturgis for the past 68 years coming from Maryland. Her early life was spent in New York City.

On September 18, 1954 she married Hubert Henry Pant in Maryland. He preceded her in death November 23, 2002.

Evelyn was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.

She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. She was also a member of the Sturgis Hospital Tray Guild, Lady Elks and for many years bowled in the Wednesday Morning Tea League at the Sturgis Bowl. She enjoyed bowling, working in her yard and was always ready for a trip to the casino.

Mrs. Pant is survived by four daughters: Stephanie (Dusty) Feller of Angola, Holly (Tom Walker) Webb, Betty Ann Harman and Leslie (James) Sharnas all of Sturgis; one son: Christopher H. Pant of Okemos; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.

Private graveside services and interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Father Andrew Raczkowski of Holy Angels Catholic Church will officiate.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
