James (Jim) Snell, age 72, of Three Rivers, (formerly of Elkhart, Indiana) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his residence on Corey Lake. He was born on March 17, 1951 to Albert and Joyce Snell. On June 28, 1975 he married Barbara Hart in Elkhart.
Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Jennifer (Brent) Kattau and Eric (Ivana) Snell; grandchildren, Lena, Emily, Ava, Rhys, Layla and Marley; brother, Richard (Marilou) Snell; and sister, Linda Yoder. After graduating from Purdue University, Jim spent over 40 years as a retail pharmacist in the local Michiana area. During his retirement, Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends, golfing, playing pickle ball, boating, volunteering as a redcoat at Elkhart General Hospital, and serving as the treasurer for the Corey Lake Association.
The family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Obenchain Lodge located at YMCA Camp Eberhart. A visitation will be held from 12pm to 2pm and memorial service at 2pm. We look forward to sharing memories, laughs, and stories as Jim would have wanted us to. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
