Peyton Render, 9

Render, age 9, of Sturgis, passed away into the arms of Jesus at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids on Sunday, October 29, 2023 after complications from a short-term illness.  Peyton was born in Sturgis on September 26, 2014, a son of Cody and Michelle (Sobota) Render.  He currently was in the third grade at Eastwood Elementary in Sturgis.  Peyton loved playing sports — basketball, flag football, and especially baseball, for the Junior Trojan team.  He loved going fishing, hanging out with his friends and family, and picking on his two younger sisters.  He adored playing with his cousins and spending time with his family.  Peyton always had a smile on his face and loved playing around the neighborhood with his friends.

Peyton is survived by his parents Cody and Michelle Render of Sturgis; sisters Quinn and Maeve; grandparents Robert and Shelly Render of Sturgis and Stan and Jean Sobota of Grand Rapids; uncles Connor Render of Detroit, Ryan (Mel) Sobota of Allendale, Jimmy (Stephanie) Sobota of Grand Rapids and Marc (Jess) Sobota of North Carolina; cousins Kaydence, Brody, Grady, Leighelle, Maxwell, Jaren, and Nolan; great grandparents Bud and Ruth Render of Brown City, Randy and Peggy Musolff of Sturgis, and Maynard and Dorothy Masters of Florida; and several other great aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday, November 3 from 2 to 7 PM at Radiant Life Church in Sturgis.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 9:30 AM at the church, with Pastor Ryan Bibb officiating.   Cremation will take place after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Trojan Junior Baseball.  Envelopes will be available at the church, or you can Venmo @trojanjuniorbaseball to make a donation in Peyton’s name by putting “Peyton” in the memo line.
