Centreville schools renew coaching contracts

Centreville Board of Education took action on a number of items during its monthly meeting Monday.

Highlights include the hiring of Centreville alumna Katie Logan as varsity softball coach; and the renewal of varsity coaching contracts for Jerry Schultz, football; Alicia Schmidtendorff, cross country; and Deric Mostrom, volleyball.

Board members also approved a travel request for three upcoming events involving the district’s robotics team as well as the annual eighth-grade Washington, D.C., trip March 5-9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Chad Brady said the district’s new bus was delivered earlier in the day. The 77-seat bus was purchased earlier this year for $79,000. It was manufactured in 2021 and has accumulated 27,000 miles.
