Phyllis Broker, 71

Phyllis Marie Broker, age 71, of Colon, passed away at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital on the morning of Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

Phyllis was born in Aurora, Illinois, on November 9, 1951, a daughter of the late Louis and Joyce (Emmel) Broker. Phyllis graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1970. She lived most all her adult life in the Colon area with her sister, Nancy.

Phyllis was employed for 22 years at Berk-Knit in Colon. She then retired from Lake Park Industries in Shipshewana after 19 years.

Surviving Phyllis are her sisters: Nancy Broker of Colon, and Nadine Wyant of Sherwood, a brother Bruce Broker and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Louis and Joyce Broker, Phyllis was preceded in death by a brother Charles Broker, and grandmother Mabel Fredenberg.

Following in her wish’s direct burial has taken place in Lakeside Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Colon Baptist Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Minniear officiating. Lunch will follow at 12 Noon.
