Donelda Hart, 87

Donelda Adell Hart, age 87, of Colon, passed away Monday morning, December 4, 2023 at her home.

She was born October 17, 1936 in Flint, Michigan daughter of the late Elmo W. and Dorothy (DePlanche) Bryan.

Donelda resided in Sturgis area since 1972 coming from Flint.

She was first married to Albert Richard Fields.  On November 2, 1974 she married Wendell J. Hart in Burr Oak. He preceded her in death January 13, 2001.

She had been employed by the Warner Cable Company in Florida and at the Froh Nursing Home in Sturgis.

Donelda attended Firm Foundation Ministries in Centreville, and for many years, the First Church of God in Sturgis.

She was a member of the Sturgis Women’s Club and had been involved in Girl Scout and Boy Scouting. She enjoyed coloring, drawing, painting, and reading.

Donelda is survived by her daughter: Barbara (Dan) Culberson of Colon; son: Michael (Ginger) Fields of Sturgis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; step-sisters: Carol (Richard) Arendt of Arkansas and Brenda (Richard) Wood of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughters: Sherrilyn E. Horne and Ann Marie Fields; son: Albert Richard Fields, Jr.; grandson: Albert Fields, III; brothers: Jack Noel and Donald Noel; step-mother: Louise Bryan and step-daughter: Janette Kovar.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Centrica Care Navigators Home Hospice team for the exceptional care Donelda received.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and interment of the remains will take place Tuesday, December 12th at 2:30 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd. in Augusta. Pastor Rod Detweiler of Firm Foundation Ministries will officiate.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
