Evelyn Myers, 65

Evelyn Renee Myers, age 65, of Sturgis, beloved mother of Joe, Kerri and Brandy, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at her home.

She was born August 18, 1958 daughter of the late Samuel and Frances (Konwinski) Garrett.

Evelyn resided in Sturgis since 1982, coming from Columbus, Georgia.

She was employed by Walmart in Sturgis for over 30 years.

Evelyn was a loving mother and friend who always put others first. Her most cherished times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. She especially loved her weekly lunch at Sandy’s with all of her girlfriends. If you knew Evelyn then you knew her love for all things Elvis. Her quirky personality will live on through all those who have been touched by her.

She is survived by her loving former spouse: Rick Myers; her children: Joseph (Heather) Myers, Kerri Mieras and Brandy (Nicholas) West all of Sturgis; her grandchildren: Harlie, Jami (Brady), Ella, Brenden, Riely and Irelyn; great granddaughter: Emberlyn; sisters: Lori VanMeter of Alabama, Margaret Garrett of Tennessee; brothers: Ronnie Garrett of Georgia and Eugene (Dawn) Garrett of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Lisa Preece and brother: Michael Garrett.

In accordance with family wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 18th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
