Jim Miller, 77

James Brian Miller, age 77, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Willowbrook Memory Care at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

He was born September 21, 1946 in Three Rivers, son of the late Nyle Cameron and Marguerite Jean (Bolander) Miller.

Jim was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1965.

On July 4, 2003 he married Patti Sargent in Irons, Michigan.

Jim was involved in the family business, Miller Brothers Standard in Sturgis for many years until the closing of the business at which time he accepted a position in the maintenance department at Sturgis Molded Products where he was employed several years until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed volunteering his time as a DNR Ranger. Jim loved fly fishing especially when he was on the Little Manistee River, waterfowl hunting with his father, and sharing a good joke with family and friends around a bonfire.

He is survived by his wife: Patti; daughters: Molly Miller of Sturgis and Christie (Chris) Hartzell of Constantine; son: Chad Weller; grandchildren: Gavin, Kalie, Aleece, Kitrina, Kamille, Vada and Dylan; sister: Kristin (Phillip) Kellogg of Sturgis; brother: Bradley Miller of Greenland, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Jeffrey A. Miller.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 13th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.
