Restitution ordered in stolen travel trailer case

An Osceloa County man was ordered last week to pay more than $11,000 in restitution for his part in a Cass County situation.

Cass County officials said Evart resident Jordan DeWitt, 39, pleaded guilty to receiving, concealing or possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The charge stems from an April 2021 incident in which police found DeWitt and two accomplices inside a stolen travel trailer parked at a campground in Newberg Township.

Between restitution, fines and costs, DeWitt is ordered to pay in excess of $13,000, court officials said.

DeWitt is already in prison for a variety of crimes committed in Berrien, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Kent, Mecosta, Osceola, Montcalm, Newaygo and Ottawa counties. In all, DeWitt has 35 felony convictions, court officials said.
