Sara Lee Boes, age 51, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023 at her home.
She was born January 15, 1972 in Kalamazoo.
Sara resided in Sturgis since 1998 coming from Battle Creek.
On September 25, 2000 she married Andy James Boes in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Sara had been employed by the Denso Corporation in Battle Creek and American General in Sturgis. Following the birth of her children she became a dedicated stay at home mom.
She was a member of the Sturgis Missionary Church.
Sara was an avid reader and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and landscaping.
She was constantly researching food and health topics. She had a concern for the food that her family would be eating and made healthy alternatives from natural ingredients many of which she would harvest herself. It was not only food that she researched and made. She would make all natural soaps, hand creams and salves to mention just a few. She was known for her very strong coffee and her incredible healthy homemade meals and treats. She loved sharing her meals and treat with others.
Sara was very athletic playing softball, volleyball and golf. She had a true appreciation for the outdoors and nature and loved God, her family, and animals.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Andy; daughters: Laurin Grace Boes and Meredith Leigh Boes both of Sturgis; sister: Abigail (William) Mason of Holland, Michigan; brother-in-law: Robert Boes of Gobles and niece and nephew: Alexis and Lucas Boes both of Paw Paw.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A time for honoring and celebrating the life of Sara Lee Boes will be held at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
