Bruce Allen Wiard, age 52, of Nottawa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born on June 1, 1971 in Three Rivers, the son of Paul Wayne and Mary Lynn (Heath) Wiard. Bruce attended Centreville High School and was part of the 1990 graduating class. On October 3, 1992 he married Amy Fall in Three Rivers at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Anything that involved being outdoors he loved, whether it was hunting, fishing, tending to his chickens, or loving on all animals. He enjoyed taking his race car to the circle trac, and a Chevy was his toy of choice. He was a master tinkerer in the garage with his father. Bruce loved to listen to classic rock and roll music as well as good ol country music. He loved to smile, giggle, and had a laugh that was extremely contagious, which contradicted his nickname, “Bruiser”. He was a simple man who enjoyed the finer things in life, such as a simple nap. Grandchildren were very important to him, attending every single sporting or gymnastics event they had. Bruce loved his family, very much.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 31 years, Amy Wiard; father Paul Wayne (Margie) Wiard, Sr.; children Rachelle (Tom) Gifford, Dustin (Ashley Brown) Wiard, Anna Wiard, Kristopher (Alex) Wiard, and Jessica Wells; grandchildren Ashtin Wiard, Lola Wells-Wiard, Maiya Wiard, Brianna Wiard, Cyrenity Wiard, and two grandchildren on the way; sister Tonia Lynn Wiard; and niece Ashli Bupp. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lynn Wiard and brother Paul W. Wiard, Jr.
Visiting hours for Bruce will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2pm, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2pm. It is suggested that memorials or donations in Bruce’s name be made to St. Joseph County Animal Control (652 E Main Street, Centreville, MI 49032).
