Kathryn S. Miller, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her home.
She was born January 31, 1956 in Upland, California daughter of the late Ronald and Katherine “Judy” (Thomas) Price.
Kathy resided in Sturgis since 1976, coming from California where she spent her early life.
On June 16, 1984 she married Tim Lewis Miller at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. He preceded her in death March 12, 2020.
She had been employed as a teacher’s aide at the St. Joseph County ISD for many years, and had also worked at Arch Workshop in Sturgis.
Kathy earned an Associate Degree at Glen Oaks Community College and was instrumental in the formation of the Sturgis Breast Cancer Support Group. Kathy had a true appreciation for dogs and animals. She enjoyed lake life at her home and loved spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister: Cindy Price of Portage; brother: Tom (Tracy) Price of Thousand Oaks, California; nieces and nephews: Sean (Racheal) Price of Moorpark, California, Ian (Susan) Ahern of Newbury Park, California, Evan (Ashley) Huver of Vicksburg, and Kasi Huver of Portage; great nieces and nephews: Reed, Ryder, Leah, Fin, Cameron and Parker.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 10th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.
In honoring Kathy’s love for animals the family suggests memorials donations be directed to Hope for the Animals of St. Joseph County, 25420 Mintdale Road, Sturgis, MI 49091.
