Lois Ann Knight, age 76, of Lansing, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2023 at her home.
She was born August 24, 1947 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Frederick P. and Winifred (Ulrich) Knight.
Lois graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1965 and also received an Associate Degree from Lansing Community College.
She had been employed as a Journeyman, press operator at the John Henry Company in Lansing. She also worked as an E.M.T and was an instructor of E.M.T.’s and fire science.
Lois enjoyed sewing, camping on her property at Hardy Dam, gardening, and flowers.
She is survived by her three children: Ronald Paul Horton of Apollo Beach, Florida, Jennifer Leigh (Kenneth) Horton-Striegle of Hopkins, Michigan and Frederick William (Michelle) Knight of Grand Ledge, Michigan; eight grandchildren: Randee J. Horton, Winston S. Horton, Ian S. Horton, Jacob Newhall, Clare Newhall, Grant Newhall, Caden Knight and Callahan Knight; sister: Janet Penner of Sturgis; brothers: Thomas Knight of Ironwood, Michigan, Wayne (Ildiko) Knight of Sturgis, and Donald (Sherry) Knight of Bridgeton, New Jersey; step-sister: Roxanne Walker of Bridgeton, New Jersey; step-brothers: Dan King of Bridgeton, New Jersey and Jeff (Renee) King of Lewisburg, Tennessee; nieces: Cathy Penner, Angella Paulson, Christina Knight and Tracie Knight; nephews: Todd Penner and Steven Penner; great nieces and nephews: Quinn, Dane, Jessica, Janel, Nicole and Brielle; great great niece: Kinsley; uncle: David (Diane) Rasbaugh; step-mother: Harriet Knight and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; brother: David Knight and infant sister: Mary Catherine.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 on Tuesday, January 2nd at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed together Wednesday, January 3rd beginning at 10:00 A.M. followed by funeral services celebrating the life of Lois Ann Knight. Lois’ nephew Steven Penner will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
