Sondra Whitworth, 87

Sondra D Whitworth, age 87, of Constantine, died Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Edgewood Nursing Home in Three Rivers. She was born July 11, 1936 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, a daughter of Charles and Leona (Emerson) Thomas. In 1954 she graduated from the Dover-Foxcroft Academy.

Sondra was a business owner at Mancino’s of Merriville, Indiana, and spent many years as a server at the Harvey House and Village Inn. She was a Detroit Tigers fan, and an active member of the Women’s Auxilliary at American Legion Arthur E. Stears Post 223. Sondra loved playing cards, trivia, and bingo on Thursdays and Fridays at the Legion. She took many trips to the casino with friends and family. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She said she was “Blessed with all of them”. Sondra attended as many softball, basketball games, trap shoots, and band concerts as she could to watch the grandkids. She was always there for whoever needed a hand, and was never afraid to give her opinion.

Surviving Sondra are her daughter Rhonda (Fred) McGlothlen, son Frank (Elizabeth) Setola, grandchildren Heather (Josh) Dull, Holly Seales, Stephanie Stasiak, Justin Hall, Tara (Andrew) Ake, Frank “Buddy” Hall, John Hall, Megan Hall, Kasey (John) Scheibe, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brother Wayne (Susan) Emerson, sister in law Ann Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leona and Edward Butler and her father Charles Thomas, husband, son Jeffrey Hall, and brothers Raymond Thomas and Gary Thomas

Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 11am to 1pm, at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where services will begin at 1:00. Rev. Mark Hofstra, Gentiva Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Interment will be in Mottville Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the Aurthur E.
