Violet May Baldwin, age 86, of Sturgis, passed away Friday evening, January 26, 2024 at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born April 7, 1937 in Three Rivers, daughter of the late Owen D. and Alvena M. (Wischman) Nichols.
Mrs. Baldwin resided in Sturgis for over 65 years coming from Three Rivers.
On June 29, 1958 she married Jean Kenneth Baldwin in Sturgis. He preceded her in death December 9, 2021.
Violet was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Sturgis.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by her daughter: Kathy (James) Andrews of Burr Oak; son: Kenneth Baldwin of Sturgis; grandchildren: Cody Andrews and Ashley Andrews, both of Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister: Dorothy Kauffman; brother: Ivan Nichols; three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 1st, at Sturgis Memorial Gardens in Sturgis. The Rev. Luke Eicher of Grace Christian Fellowship Church will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
