Virginia A. Weekly, age 91, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 29, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 17, 1932 in Alpena County, Michigan daughter of the late Peter and Adeline (Summerfield) Kosloski.
Virginia resided in Sturgis since 1953 coming from Elwood, Indiana. Her early life was spent in Alpena.
On September 3, 1950 she married C. Virgil Weekly in Greencastle, Indiana. He preceded her in death February 2, 2000.
Virginia was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis, Neuman-Wenzel Post #72 American Legion Auxiliary, Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room Guild and a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding the birds and always watching for her favorite cardinals and loved time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter: Kathy (Ken) Sahli of Sturgis; daughter-in-law: Marilyn Weekly of Sturgis; grandchildren: Jeffery Weekly, Gabriel Weekly, April Quintero, Joshua Weekly, Matthew Terrell, Marc Terrell, Malissa Terrell Varner, Sarah Scott, Megan Fieberkorn and Elizabeth Lounsbury; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother: Richard Kosloski; step-sister: Alene (Lloyd) Liski of Hubbard Lake and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter: Shelley Terrell; sons: Danny Weekly and Scott Weekly; mother: Adeline Carney; father and step-mother: Peter and Vada Kosloski and brother: Victor Kosloski.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
