Anna V. St. John, age 93, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born August 13, 1930 in Lycoming County, PA a daughter to the late Alvin and Leona (Lyons) Milheim.
Anna was first married to Irvin Ryder on Aug. 4, 1950. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1974. She then married Edgar St. John on Oct. 5, 1974. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1984.
Anna has been a resident of Sturgis since 1974 moving here from Turbotville, PA. She was employed by Sturgis Hospital in the Dietary Dept. and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Aux., Sturgis Eagles, and she enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are two daughters: Kathy Persing of Sturgis, and Shirley Yancey of Williamsport, PA; two sons: Glenn Milheim of Kansas and Jeffery Ryder of Sturgis; a son-in-law: Greg Cordero of Willisamsport, PA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother: Charles Milheim; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter: Faye Cordero; brother: Alvin Milheim; and one sister: Mabel Sones.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00 to 2:30 on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091.
A service celebrating the life of Anna St. John will be held at 2:30, immediately following visitation, at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Bibb, Radiant Life Church, officiating.
Interment and graveside services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the family, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
