Carl R. Hawn, age 84, of Constantine, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born June 16, 1939 in Ligonier , a son of George and Ethel (Smith) Hawn. Carl graduated from Cromwell High School in 1957.He worked at the Ford garage in Constantine, later going to the foundry in White Pigeon, and lastly worked for Constantine Creamery in production and as night watchman for many years, retiring in 2001.
On September of 1960, Carl married Suzanne Darlene Campbell, she preceded him in death on January 1967 . He then married Nancy J. (Katt) Vantine in June 9, 1972. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2023. Carl enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, Indiana University basketball, and Lions football.
Surviving Carl are his son Kenneth Hawn, Constantine; daughters Kathy (Randy) Burns of Dongola, IL, Kim (Mike/Meathead) Barber of Constantine, son Tim (Kathy) Vantine, Constantine; grandchildren Whitney (Logan) Blentlinger, Christopher Burns, Eric Vantine, Mark (Jen Dombrowski) Vantine; great grandchildren Faith Blentlinger, Aspyn Blentlinger, Aleister Burns, Ezekiel Burns, Rinoa Burns, Caiden Vantine and Beckham Vantine; sister Lavonne (Delbert) Linn, Cromwell, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; brothers Donald Hawn and Bud Hawn; sisters Kathryn Emmons, Lydia Martin, Freda Ware, Mary Kline and Donna Ott.
