Doris A. Gearring, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, in Boston after an extended illness.
Doris was born on April 8, 1948, in Greenville, SC to Lt Col Paul and Alda Adams of Lincoln, NE.
Doris graduated from Lincoln High School, attended the University of Nebraska, and then graduated from Fisk University in Nashville. She married David E. Gearring of Gary, IN. Together, they raised sons, David, Jr and William Paul. Doris and David, Sr were married for over 50 years, until his death in May 2022.
Doris had lived in Sturgis for the last 28 years, being an integral member of the community.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The memorial for Doris Gearring will be on April 6, 2024, at Hackman Funeral Home in Sturgis at 10:00 AM.
