John Thomas Churchill, age 48, of Sturgis, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at home.
He was born March 9, 1975 in Lansing, a son to Daniel V. and Penny Sue (Osenga) Churchill.
On April 1, 2017 in White Pigeon, he married Rhoda Matchett.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and had been employed by Thor Industries before his health forced him to retire.
Surviving are his wife: Rhoda; a brother: Ruston Churchill of Bremen, IN; a sister: Chara Frost of Owosso, MI; his mother: Penny Churchill of Lansberg, MI; a grandson: Owen James Bowen of Sturgis; a step-daughter: Amanda Matchett and a step-son: Andrew Bowen both of Sturgis; Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Newell & Gladys Churchill and Susan and Edward Osenga, his father: Daniel V. Churchill, and a brother: Daniel Churchill Jr.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family to help with expenses and envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
