Michael Paul Kutz, age 64, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at East Lake Nursing & Rehab.
He was born November 10, 1959 in Three Rivers, the son of Paul E. and Anna L. (Pond) Kutz, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1978.
Michael was a dedicated employee of Elkhart Plastics for more than 20 years, and more recently worked at Elkhart Community Schools as a janitor.
Michael married Cheryl L. Bigger on February 14, 1996. They were the love of each other’s lives. They loved having people over and hosting parties, cookouts, and enjoying their time together as a family.
Michael loved to go fishing, camping, hanging out with family and friends, building stuff, grilling out, and collecting Budweiser mugs. Michael also loved NASCAR and collecting Indian items. Michael loved to decorate for the holidays. His yard was always lit up with something. Michael also loved his flags. Michael also played Santa for family.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his brothers, Dale (Marcy) Kutz, Terry (Kathleen) Kutz, and David (Ilene) Kutz; sister, Patricia (William) Prichard; special niece and caregiver, Rebecca Hunt; nieces and nephews, Alicia, William, Chase, Kristin, Katie, Ericka, Joshua, Nicole, Bryanna, Terra, Dave Jr., Kendra, and Logan; many great-nieces and nephews; his girlfriend, Brenda Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Cheryl Kutz, in 2008.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 beginning at 1:00 at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Jamey Smith of Restoration Church officiating.
Donations in Michael’s memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
