Pauline G. Richards, age 94, of Sturgis, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 at Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1929 in Chelyan, West Virginia a daughter of the late Arthur and Samantha (Jenkins) Patterson.
On June 30, 1945 she married Dewey Murphy and they were married 10 months when Dewey was killed and left a 6 day old baby son. On May 19, 1947 She married Thomas Richards and they were married 50 years before he passed away in 1997.
Pauline had been employed at Trans-O-Gram, Sturgis Co., Harter Corporation, and Ross Laboratories, where she retired from in 1991. She was a member of the Sturgis Nazarene Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and enjoyed reading.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law: Jean Murphy of Colon; 4 grandchildren: Michelle (Steve) Byrne, Brook Richards, Samantha (James) Ferry, and Thomas (Carrie) Milham; 6 great-grandchildren: Claire Milham, Grayden Milham, Chelsie Richards, Isabella Ferry, Ava Ferry, and Ciara Byrne; one great-great-granddaughter: Nani Sofia Milham; several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 2 sons: Curtis Murphy (2014) and Tom Richards Jr. (2006) 4 brothers: Donald, Hobart, Curtis, and Ray Patterson, and one sister: Ella Marshall.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
Services celebrating the life of Pauline Richards will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Jesse Sibert, Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Graveside services and interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
