Peggy Castle Doherty, age 77, of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born July 8, 1946 in Three Rivers, daughter of Vernon and Zelma (Davidhizar) Castle. She graduated from Three Rivers in 1964 and attended MSU graduating with the class of 1968, after which she taught school in Los Angeles and became administrator of Hawthorne School District, in LA County. Peggy was named Woman of the Year in 2000 for the state of California. Upon her retirement in 2003 she received commendation from the County of Los Angeles for service to the community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Pat Doherty of Las Vegas; brothers, Roy Castle, Vernon (Ellen) Castle, and John Castle; sister, Penny Kindig.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patty Lockwood and brother Dave Castle.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
