June Tetzloff, 87

Lovilla June Tetzloff, age 87, of Sturgis, passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 25, 2024 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Howe, IN.

She was born November 20, 1936 in Medaryville, Indiana daughter of the late Berl and Merl (Stotler) Stout.

June resided in Sturgis since 1955 coming from Winamac, Indiana.

On December 31, 1953, she married the love of her life, Hugh Melvin Tetzloff at Medaryville Christian Church in Indiana. He preceded her in death December 26, 2014.

June was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cared for many toddlers over the years at the Child Care Center in Sturgis and served as den mother for cub scouts. Together, she and Hugh loved traveling in their RV and enjoyed their home on the lake.

June attended the Sturgis Church of Christ in Sturgis, and later the First United Methodist Church also in Sturgis with her son.

She is survived by four sons: George (Ronda) Tetzloff of Shipshewana, Ron (Rosanna) Tetzloff of Mancelona, MI, Kelvin (Candy) Tetzloff of White Pigeon, and Roger (Jeri) Tetzloff of Howe; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

June was one of 12 children and is survived by brothers: Leroy (Maggie) Stout and Devon Stout, both of Star City, IN, sister, Carol Pinks, Winamac, IN, many loving sisters and brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother, Fern (Roberts) Stout, brothers; Mark Stout, Arnold Stout, Lowell Stout, George Stout, sisters, Darlene Kay Stout, Ruth Oliver, Roberta Johns, Shirley Dunkel and many loving sisters and brothers-in-law.

Her family and friends will forever miss her sweet spirit and infectious giggle.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Pleasant Avenue, Sturgis, MI 49091. Funeral services celebrating the life of Lovilla June Tetzloff will be held at 12:00 at the church following the visitation. Pastor Sue Babb will officiate. Interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
