Laura G. Jackson, age 77, of Sturgis, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Laurels of Coldwater following a long illness. She was born in Albion, Indiana on December 5, 1946 the daughter of Frederick Lowell Wolfe and Lavanga Phae (Weeks) Wolfe.
Laura graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1965. She was united in marriage to George Allen Jackson on August 2, 1965 in Constantine. She was employed at Union Products in Sturgis, and later in the offices of Sturgis Foundry.
Laura and her husband, George, were life members of the Sturgis Eagles. She was a member of several area golf and bowling leagues. She was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening, and her collection of Elvis records and memorabilia. She was a very active grandmother and will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.
Laura is survived by her husband, George of Sturgis; two children, Kevin (John Thore Duhn) Jackson of Grand Rapids and Kristina (Mike) Ludwig of Three Rivers; two grandsons, Zachary Ludwig and Chase Ludwig; five siblings, Margaret Filmore, Katha (Ryan) Taylor, Darrell (Baohua Li) Wolfe, Dora (Dewey) Payton, and Phillip (Phyllis) Wolfe; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She as preceded in death by her parents; son Kenneth Jackson; brother, Ed Wolfe; and sister, Linda Mieras.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Services will begin at 1 pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Carr of the Sturgis Foursquare Church officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
