Stephen Mock, 83

Stephen S. Mock, age 83, of Sturgis, passed away Monday morning, March 26, 2024 at his home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1940 in Jackson, MI a son to the late Steward A. and Theodora (Prine) Mock.

Stephen has been a resident of Sturgis since 1973. On April 26, 1974 in LaGrange, he married Jean Smith.

He had been employed by Bronson Plating and was a farmer of livestock and agriculture. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Michiana Audubon Club, and he enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Surviving are his wife: Jean; a step-son: Donald Church of Macomb, Mississippi; a sister: Ruth Ann Cross of Woodland, AL; granddaughters: Tabitha Church and Jennifer Henderson and a brother: Stanley Mock of Boswick, FL.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, son: Matthew S. Mock (2022), and a sister: Evelyn Rogers.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Stephen S. Mock will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 S. Lakeview Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091 with Rev. Calvin J. Kolzow, officiating.
