5k raised money for Three Rivers Promise

The third annual Three Rivers Promise Race for the Future took place at Three Rivers High School on Saturday, April 27.

Organizers of last weekend’s “Run For the Future” fundraiser, sponsored by Three Rivers Promise, was declared a success.

Together, participants of the 5K run as well as the 1-mile walk helped raise about $17,000 as part of the third-annual event.

Three Rivers Promise was created to provide financial assistance for college or vocational education to Three Rivers High School graduates.

The overall fastest female runner was Centreville High School student Ellie Reed, a Mendon resident. Her time was 25 minutes and 10 seconds.

Over 50 runners participated in the event, with winners in six categories from under 17 to over 60 for males and females. Medalists are pictured above.

Meanwhile, Climax resident Eli Drallette clocked the fastest overall time, with a mark of 23 minutes and 22 seconds.

American Axle & Manufacturing and Indiana Michigan Power were diamond sponsors of the annual event.
