Carolyn Mae Allen, age 80, of Colon, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Optalis of Three Rivers.
Carolyn was born on June 26, 1943, in Three Rivers, a daughter to the late OJ and Leona Lunger.
On April 22, 1960, Carolyn married Wendell E. Allen in Centreville. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2010.
Over the years Carolyn worked several different places including: Colmer Co., Lamb knit, GF Business, and Sturgis Molded Products, where she eventually retired from. Carolyn enjoyed working on the farm, tending to her animals, and most especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Surviving Carolyn are her children: Wendy (Brian) Thompson of Colon, grandchildren: Jessica (Kenny) Campbell of Leonidas, Tyler (Alexis) Pierson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Kelsey (Kerry) Stagner of Alabama, Sarah (Daniel) Lutz of Alabama, Carl (Deb) Thompson, daughter in law Laurie Allen of Alabama, several great grandchildren, and a sister Marilyn Summey of Grass Valley, California.
Besides her parents OJ and Leona Lunger, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Wendell E. Allen, son Randy Allen, and brother Doyle Lunger.
The Allen family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. A funeral service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be directed to the Colon P.E.G. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
