March’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by one-tenth of a percent from February.
Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 4.2 percent in February to 4.1 percent in March. The county’s March rate from a year earlier was 4.4 percent.
In addition, Cass County also experienced a drop in its unemployment figures from February to March. Its February rate was 4.5 percent and lowered to 4.2 percent a month later.
Meanwhile, Branch County’s one-month unemployment rate fell in March from the previous month. It was 3.8 percent in February and dropped to 3.6 percent in March.
Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 3.9 percent, unchanged from February.
