Sturgis man arrested following home invasion case

A 25-year-old Sturgis man has been arrested following his alleged role in a home invasion and criminal sexual conduct case in Fawn River Township.

The incident occurred March 20 at Sweet Lake Mobile Home Park, where two females under the age of 13 were sexually assaulted.

Investigators were able to quickly determine that the suspect was the driver of a vehicle captured in video footage, however the suspect fled the area prior to being taken into custody.

He was eventually traced to a location in Fort Wayne, Ind., where he was taken into custody late last week.

For now, the suspect is charged with one count of home invasion and two counts of first-degree CSC. He is also being held on an immigration detainer, sheriff’s authorities said.
