Three charged in stabbing incident

State police troopers responded last month to a stabbing incident in Branch County’s Coldwater Township.

According to a media release from MSP, troopers responded at 8 p.m. March 1 to the 200 block of Paradise Island Drive.

The 28-year-old victim, an Ohio resident, was hospitalized for treatment for internal injuries that required surgery.

Investigators said an argument broke out between the victim and a 19-year-old Battle Creek man.

The victim was stabbed multiple times and attempted to defend himself with a pistol, but a witness intervened, according to authorities.

Arrest warrants were secured for the 19-year-old and two females. The females, ages 24 and 19, turned themselves in to the Branch County Jail.

They have been charged with felony accessory after the fact and felony obstruction. The 19-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder.
