White Pigeon school earns Fields of Excellence award

White Pigeon Community School was honored recently by Pioneer Athletics.
The company has a “Fields of Excellence” award program and White Pigeon earned the
honor. The nationwide program recognizes hardworking individuals, schools and communities for their dedication and effort in keeping fields and sports facilities looking their best.
Any institution or organization that regularly maintains an outdoor athletic field can
apply for the award.
White Pigeon will receive a recognition certification from Pioneer. The school also earns
a Fields of Excellence banner to display on its grounds.
More than 1,500 athletic fields from across the country have been recognized by Pioneer
since its inception in 1997. This year, there were 96 winners. Pioneer said colleges, universities, high schools plus parks and recreation departments from the United States submitted applications.
