Bob Cooper, 62

Robert (Bob) Wayne Cooper, age 62, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday May 6, 2024, surrounded by his family members at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek. Bob’s life began October 18, 1961, in Norfolk, VA, the son of Richard Thomas and Patricia Ann (Flynn) Cooper. As a young boy, Bob grew up in Jones, MI after his family moved from South Bend. He graduated from Marcellus High School. After a period of time, Bob entered the United State Army and served his country proudly from January 13, 1982 until January 12, 1985. He returned to Jones for a period of time, then moved to San Diego, and then to Naples, FL where Bob was blessed with his son, Christopher Odell Cooper. Bob and Chris traveled to Nebraska to be with family and eventually moved to Centreville to enjoy their lives and be with other members of his family. Bob loved spending time outdoors, especially around the many lakes, rivers and streams, to go fishing with his son, Chris, brother Lance, and Father Richard, and anywhere he was invited. Bob also loved to hunt with family members and friends in the nearby Michigan woods and fields. After residing in Centreville for a period of time, Bob moved to Battle Creek.

Bob’s greatest joy was being near his son, Chris and family, which included his Father, Richard and Mother Patricia Cooper of Jones; his sisters Kathy (Cooper) Smith of Elkhart IN, twin sister Deborah (Cooper) Barrett of Plattsmouth, NE, Karen (Cooper) Morse of Luther, MI; his bother Lance Cooper of Centreville, and his son Christopher Cooper of Tarentum, PA.

Bob’s family will gather at Poe Cometary near Jones for a private family gathering and prayer service.
