County’s April unemployment down

April’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by one-tenth of a percent from March.

Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 3.9 percent in March to 3.8 percent in April.

In addition, Cass County also experienced a drop in its unemployment figures from March to April. Its March rate was 4.2 percent and lowered to 4 percent a month later.

Meanwhile, Branch County’s one-month unemployment rate fell in April from the previous month. It was 3.6 percent in March and dropped to 3.4 percent in April.

Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April was 3.8 percent, down from 3.9 percent in March.
