On January 14, 1967, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, she married James M. Kelly; Jim preceded her in death on February 24, 2022. Jean was a consummate hostess. She loved having parties for her family, and the friends of her children. In the mid 1970’s, the family voted to either take summer vacations or invest in a swimming pool. The swimming pool won out and was the prime location for Jean to host countless summer parties.
