Malinda D. Wylie, age 79, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, May 24, 2024, at Skaggs Assisted Living in Burr Oak.
She was born March 22, 1945, in Coldwater, daughter of the late Jack Charles and Bertha Dolores (Gladstone) Fitch.
Malinda resided in Sturgis since 1996, coming from Bronson where she was a graduate of Bronson High School with the class of 1963.
She retired from Atwood Mobile Products in LaGrange. Prior to joining Atwood she worked for several years at the Kirsch Company in Sturgis until the closing of the company.
She loved walking and seemed to always find something that needed a good cleaning.
She is survived by daughters: Dawn (Matt) Foster of Sturgis and Denise (Steve) Ploteska of Marquette; son: Jeffery Austin of Sturgis; grandchildren: Savanna, Alisha, Jacquelyn, Tiffany, Trace, Asher and Lilly; 10 great grandchildren; life partner: Ellen Baker of Sturgis; sister-n-law: Sue Fitch of Sturgis and one niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Douglas, James, and Robert Fitch.
In honoring Malinda’s wishes and following her directions cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Private burial of the remains will take place at the Bronson Cemetery in Bronson at a later date.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
