Pete Gunn, 58

Peter Allen Gunn, age 58, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday evening, May 26, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born April 9, 1966, in Battle Creek, son of William “Bill” Lynn and Beatrice Lynette (Wilson) Gunn.

Pete’s early life was lived in Delton, Michigan and he was a graduate of Battle Creek Pennfield High School with the class of 1984. Following his graduation, he resided in the Three Rivers and Kalamazoo areas.

Pete was a talented cook and had been employed at several restaurants and cafés including Mill Creek Café in Three Rivers.

He attended the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers and enjoyed fishing, working on cars, auto racing, playing horseshoes, and loved volunteering his time at the Hope House in Three Rivers.

He is survived by his son: Joseph (Pauline) Tullos of Sturgis; parents: Bill and Susan Gunn of Delton; grandchildren: Emmaliegh, Destiny, Damian and Ricky and nephews: Cameron and Clay Schutte.

He was preceded in death by his mother and sister: Donna Gunn and a niece and nephew.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Peter Allen Gunn will be held Saturday June 8th at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Main St. in Three Rivers. The Pastor Martin Cobb will officiate. Private interment will take place at East Hickory Corners Cemetery in Hickory Corners, MI.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091 is entrusted with the arrangements.
