Vicksburg swears in newest council member

A four-year member of the Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Board was sworn in earlier this month to the Vicksburg Village Council.

Chad Kissinger, a 35-year-old Indiana native replaces Rick Holmes, who stepped down Jan. 29.

Kissinger said his experience with the Parks and Recreation Committee – for which he has served as chairman since 2022 – was a good springboard to the village council. He was one of three candidates interviewed for the position.

Kissinger said a strong interest in local government prompted him to apply for the village council position.

Kissinger has been a salesman for 10 years, currently in the life science field. He graduated from Mishawaka High School and attended college at Indiana University South Bend.
