Centreville schools approves new hires

Centreville Public Schools Board of Education approved a number of new hires and agreed to a few additional matters this week.

James Phillips was brought aboard as jr./sr. high physical education teacher and varsity football coach.
Shannon Schwandt will serve as elementary school dean of students.
Devin Moyer was hired as fourth-grade teacher. He previously served as the school’s full-time substitute and had been a full-time teacher in Constantine.
A contract with Centreville Education Association – the district’s teaching staff – was approved for the 2024-25 academic year.
A contract with paraprofessionals represented by Centreville Educational Support Personnel was also approved for the upcoming school year.
Administrative contracts with 10 employees were OK’d.
The position of jr./sr. high school principal remains unfilled.
